September 23rd, 2017
10am - 6pm
MaRS building, 101 College Street, Toronto
The Toronto Etsy Street Team and 416Hustler are co-hosting our 4th annual huge handmade & vintage show as part of Etsy's pan-Canadian extravaganza. There will be simultaneous shows in more than 30 cities across the country! Etsy is planning a national ad campaign! This promises to be our best show yet!
Every vendor will get one standard table (6 feet by 2.5 feet) and one chair in the MaRS Atrium. Clothing vendors will be given the option of using their own clothing rack instead (if no larger than 6 feet long by 2.5 feet wide by 8 feet high).
We plan to include a Special Vintage Market within the show.
We plan to introduce a new Special Newbie Vendor Section!
This is a juried show, but it will be huge! We plan to host over 130 vendors, so don't hesitate to apply!
Last year's show attracted more than 8000 shoppers, eager to buy. Our swag bags attracted a line-up a full three hours prior to opening. Many sellers reported that it had been their most successful single day of selling all year, or of all time!
The fee is only $110.00!*
This application is open to all Canadian handmade or vintage Etsy vendors. We especially encourage our team members to apply, but this show is exceptional in that it is open to vendors who are not part of TEST. You MUST have an Etsy shop!
Want to take part in this awesome opportunity, but you don't sell on Etsy? No problem! We are specifically seeking newbie sellers! Just take 15 minutes and launch your new shop today!
Then, you can apply for our show and sign up for Newbie Bootcamp by emailing TorontoEtsyST@gmail.com and we'll help with everything you need to know about launching your online business!
WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE FULL APPLICATION YOU WILL REACH THE CONFIRMATION PAGE AND THEN RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL.
The DEADLINE is JUNE 18th 2017. THIS IS A HARD DEADLINE. Don't miss it.
All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by JULY 2nd or sooner. Only successful applicants will be asked to submit their fees and will be required to do so by July 16th to secure their spot. Unpaid or declined spots will be opened to the waiting list, beginning in August.
Please note that the number of applicants exceeds the spots available. You are welcome to apply to multiple shows but to maximize opportunities for local sellers, vendors will only be able to participate in one of the GTA region shows. If you’re admitted to more than one, you will be required to choose between them. We will be working with local teams to confirm that sellers are not overbooked.
The Coveted Etsy: Made in Canada Toronto Swag Bags
We've found that swag bags are really popular with shoppers and can lead to sales at (and after!) the show. We'd like to give the first 100 shoppers a swag bag. The trick to gaining fans and future shoppers is to donate a collection of small, affordable but desirable items - and to be sure to affix your businesscard or other branding.
Please note that we do not want 100 of your retail items! We all have tight budgets, but there are many ingenious ways to donate swag without giving up your stock. Contributing swag is a way to get your name out to the public using a small sample of your product or other tangible item that will remind people of your business. You don't need to break the bank, but with some thought, planning, creativity, and a little effort you can make a great little promotional item. For example, a soapmaker can slice up soap into small sample pieces, packaged with their business name. A jewellery vendor may make DIY gift bag, with beads, instructions and business card and let their customers show their creative side! Goodies, magnets, pins, buttons attached to your business card could all make great swag! If you are unsure of what to give or have questions, please just let us know.
Note: you may choose to donate fewer more special items or a larger number of more affordable items. There is no requirement that 100 items be donated. We do ask that a minimum of 20 items be donated, but we are flexible, just let us know what you're thinking!
