Mahalo, Thank you, Merci, Gracias, Danke for calculating and offsetting your emissions with CarbonBuddy.
You are about to become the #solutiontoclimatechange
Set the time period for your calculation
Please note: We recommend to calculate emissions for an entire year! This will make it easier for you to compare future calculations with this one to see if you reduce your emissions.
Emission values are obtained from The World Bank
Don't remember the flight time? A good guess is getter than leaving it blank. However, if you wish to calculate the flight time, you can do this at https://flighttime-calculator.com/ (it will open in a new window).
There is no option yet to add emissions from your electric/plug-in hybrid vehicle to this calculator because we do not have necessary data to calculate accurate emissions for you.
We will add this feature as soon as we get reliable data for this part of the calculation.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Why does an electric vehicle produces emission anyway? Doesn't it often say "Zero Emissions" on it?
If an electric vehicle is charged by power from the grid, the vehicle is responsible for the emissions that are produced to generate the electicity it needs to charge its battery. Therefore, it produces emissions even though the vehicle itself does not produce emissions while driving (which is i.e. great for improving air quality in cities). If an electric vehicle is charged by renewable energy, then this car truly does not produce emissions from driving.
You produce NO emissions by consuming electrity at home because it is powered by 100% renewable energy. You are ahead of most of us. Thank you!
We can calculate your energy use related emissions with the information you have provided so far.
Here is a number to compare your emissions to:
Global per capita average annual emissions are 4.97t (2014)

Awesome!
You are almost done! Now, that you know how much your lifestyle contributes to climate change, you can start taking action on reducing it.
Want to have a look at our projects before deciding?
Great. We appreciate your curiosity because we think informed consumers are able to take better decissions. Here are a few things that might be of interest to you:
Here is even more of the good stuff:
One of our main drivers at CarbonBuddy is the concept of leading by example. However, these positive examples need to be known to encourage following. Therefore, we created the #ClimateBuddyMap as a platform to spread the word on climate action. In order to put your contribution on the map we would need a little more information from you.
So, if you want to encourage others to follow the example you set, please fill out the fields below.
Please note: The map and your entry will be available to the public via the CarbonBuddy website.
This is how your entry could look like:
Thank you for joining the #ClimateBuddyMap!
Your entry will be added within one day after offsetting your emissions.
Can we send you this FREE sticker as a "Thank you" for your climate leadership?
