Claudia entered university with dreams of becoming a veterinarian, but by third year she knew she wanted to follow her passion in training and refocused her goals to be an exceptional dog trainer. Her love began as a child researching about training, and after presenting to her parents with a PowerPoint presentation of benefits of several different breeds was when she got her first dog at 7 years old who she focused on obedience and agility training. Starting at 16 Claudia was volunteering at the Humane Society then at 21 she successfully placed her first foster dog into a forever home and took on raising an autism service dog for 2 years who has been successfully placed into his forever home with an important job to a young girl named Ava. It was seeing the complexity of dog ownership between her first foster who had behavioural issues to overcome, and raising a puppy to become a successful service dog that she realized each owners situation and relationship with their dog is different.
Claudia began her apprenticeship with Beyond the Leash a year ago to further her knowledge, and then adopted a 2 year old pup named Maverik who she successfully passed through this school. She has been training classes on her own for the last 8 month and has developed a style that clients at the school rave about. Her passion for training comes from wanting to give every owner the proper knowledge and guidance on how to effectively communicate with their dog and allow them to be the best versions of themselves.
