Assembly Planning Committee uses established procedures, evaluates the previous assembly, prepares the program of the upcoming assembly, and serves as steering committee for the assembly. The committee meets in person at the previous year's Assembly, and via Zoom several times throughout the year. The term is one year, from Assembly to Assembly.
Brothers Committee focuses on the ongoing leadership of Brothers in religious congregations and institutes in the United States. The committee is to study, review and engage issues significant to the role and identity of Brothers especially those of current interest to the CMSM members and to suggest ways for the Conference to respond to these needs. The committee meets in person once per year, and via Zoom once per year.
Finance Committee supervises and monitors the financial affairs of the Conference. The term is three years. This committee meets in person once per year, and via Zoom twice per year.
Formation Committee handles matters of initial and ongoing formation for consecrated life and apostolic life from the perspective of and in service to major superiors in the fulfillment of their responsibilities. The committee receives information from sources both national and international, reviewing, dialoguing about, and informing CMSM members concerning formation matters common to religious institutes, examining trends and anticipating issues. The term is three years. This committee meets twice annually in person.
Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation has a four-fold purpose: to use scripture, Eucharist, Catholic Social Teaching, and experience to reflect on those issues of justice, peace, and integrity of creation which CMSM can best affect; to sensitize the membership on these issues of; to suggest and mobilize members around appropriate modes of action; to represent the Conference in advocacy positions in collaboration with other religious and secular organizations. The term is three years. This committee meets in person twice annually.
Mission Committee has a four-fold purpose: to reflect on the issues of mission CMSM can best affect; to keep alive the urgency of mission in CMSM; to be a place of dialogue and exchange on our diverse but common needs and approaches to the mission of religious life in the Church; to suggest and mobilize members around appropriate modes of action, particularly the praxis of reconciliation. The term is three years. The Mission Committee meets in person twice annually.
