Accepting Volunteers from May 2019
Punta Mona is an 85 acre mature permaculture farm and retreat center. In addition to growing ridiculous exotic fruit and cultivating an abundance of tropical root vegetables and a greenhouse, we have vegetable gardens scattered throughout the farm as well. We have volunteers coming in from around the world year-round and welcome you to our international Puntamonian family!
As an educational retreat center, we host permaculture design courses, yoga teacher trainings and other various retreats. For a volunteer, this translates as focusing our skills and time in the kitchen and keeping spaces clean and beautiful in addition to helping with some work in the greenhouse or on the land alongside our agriculture crew; this also means that we get to experience beautiful and well-kept living spaces and as a community as well! Additionally, we are a young and fun community - we enjoy our liberty being off the grid and creating our own societal norms. Punta Mona is a place to learn and grow in all directions!
As a volunteer you will cook one meal per day (breakfast, lunch or dinner), participate in a farm chore, and work either the morning or afternoon shift on an on going project. This work entails loving on the community spaces for cleanliness and also working with gardens/chickens/fruit trees, harvesting food, building/repairing farm structures, groundskeeping, and making herbal medicine. Outside of those 6 hours and on your free day, you can enjoy living in jungle paradise snorkeling, hiking, surfing, reading, working in your personal garden or jumping in on courses that are currently being offered.
We have several guests and groups during our high season, such as...
[APRIL:] Permaculture for the Herbalist Path Course, Ecology of Wellness Gathering, Yoga and Meditation Retreat, Intensive Mushroom Cultivation Course, Summit Event
[MAY:] Summit Retreat Group
[JUNE:] Intro to Herbalism
[JULY:] Permaculture Design Course
